Brushing your ferret's teeth

Dental disease is one of the most common diseases in ferrets over 3 years of age.

Just like cats and dogs, ferrets develop tartar build-up and gingivitis. Gingivitis and tartar can lead to more serious infections and diseases.

It is important to try to clean your ferret's teeth every two weeks to help prevent tartar accumulation.

Ways to help prevent tartar accumulation on your ferret's teeth

1. Brush your ferret's teeth:

  • You can use a cotton swab and a pet-safe tooth paste, such as Oxyfresh Pet Gel or Oxyfresh Oral Hygiene Solution.
  • You can use Totally Ferret Oral Swabs.

2. You can put Oxyfresh Oral Hygiene Solution into your ferret's water each day.

Proper dental care will help keep your ferret healthy and give him/her a white smile and great breath.
