Ferret Health Issues
Keeping your ferret happy and healthy requires constant attention. If your ferret displays any of the signs or symptoms listed below, please call us to schedule an appointment.
Eyes:
- Swollen/bulging eyes
- Runny or watery eyes
- White spots
- Any discharge
Ears
- Dark wax
- Scratching, painful (may indicate ear mites)
- Head tilt (may indicate an ear infection)
- Blood (may indicate an ear infection/ear mites/excessive scratching)
- Bad smell (may indicate an ear infection)
- Any growth (may indicate a mass or tumor)
Mouth
- Pale gums
- Drooling
- Vomiting
- Grinding teeth
- Pawing at the mouth
- Panting
Legs
- Limping
- Weakness in hindquarters
- Stiffness
- Wobbly
Tail
- Hair loss
- Growth
- Kinked
- Black spots
Nose
Fur and Skin
